Shearail® punching shear reinforcement

This modern commercial project comprises a mixed use development of office and sub-divisible retail space in the centre of the City of London.

Formerly known as 120 Fenchurch Street, the project involved refurbishment of an existing office block which included the addition of three extra floors to the top. The 15-storey office building was fitted out to a Category-A level and shell only to the retail units at ground floor and basement levels.

Site logistical constraints were very challenging, working adjacent to one of London's tallest building projects. Max Frank's Shearail® punching shear reinforcement was chosen as a simple and effective solution to combat punching shear.

The building incorporates a unique, open-air rooftop garden that offers panoramic views of London and overlooks a lively restaurant. The new development is set to be an iconic landmark; "a building with a hundred views". It will have a dynamic urban presence with a crystalline appearance that constantly changes as it is activated by daylight and weather conditions.
